Alex's Great Small Ensemble is the tinkering and tunes of me, Alex. What once was a curiosity is now in it's full maturity, yet still in motion. In 2019, while serving in the US Army, I started my first band with a group of mates from my unit under the name "Syvyl Indigo". It didn't go far. But after leaving the Army behind in 2021, I packed what I had and drove down to Texas where I found my next group of friends, Bitter Critter.

After a brief cigarette interaction with Benjamin Lopez at a local bar, he offered me to play bass for his band Bitter Critter, to which I agreed after catching their memory burning and electrifying performance at a DIY show. After playing with them for a while, we all had agreed that I would also help them record and produce their EP "Punk for Bitter Cowboys" and their first album "Bitter Critter: Greatest Hits". I played a lot of local shows in that time which allowed me to meet Brandon from a local band called "Powdered Wig Machine". I soon began playing bass with them after I had heard that they needed a player. But after playing with them for a few months I began to feel stretched thin between all of the projects I was lending myself to. So I decided to take a step back and focus on my personal music projects.

I am constantly searching for what it is I want to say. Exploration is the core of all the music.
